Woo! He's done
A commission for The Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland, the 2010 movie.
He was certainly a challenge to make since it was something else from what I usually do So this plush helped me learn a lot.
I had to completely redo my floppy pattern and adjust it to the character to create a more chubbier body. The colour combination was a pleasure to work with btw.
This plush is very soft and posable. His tail is very lightly stuffed so you can flop it around any way you like. Each stripe has been individually sewn in (so much work x_x). His eyes are made of resin and hand-painted to match the stripes on his body. The nose was actually brown but I painted it into a flesh-tone and coated it with a few layers of varnish.
Measuring 27 inches long including tail he is pretty much life-sized.
At first I wanted to make his belly a lighter grey but eventually decided against it. I just don't think it would've looked right. I tried to stick close to the movie screenshots but still kept it in my own style.
All in all, I'm very happy with this commission. Gotta love that grin!
